Last night's debut episodes of Tyler Perry's new scandalous drama, The Haves and the Have Nots, was one steamy hour of television.
The story follows a wealthy, dysfunctional family, the Cryers, and their unwavering drama that spills over into chaos.
Candice, played by Tika Sumpter, turned up the heat as the twists and turns of her storyline began to unfold. Viewers soon learned that not only is Candice a family friend to Amanda (Jacyln Betham), but she is an escort and the estranged daughter of the Cryer family's new maid, Hanna Young (Crystal Fox).
But Candice won't let the ensuing drama stop her! Before it's all said and done, Candice blackmails Jim Cryer (John Schneider), the family's patriarch and prominent judge who she had an affair with, for $100,000 and a sports car or she'll "burn his playhouse down."
Hanna isn't pleased with her daughter's antics and returns home after seeing her daughter act out. She tells her son, Benny (Tyler Lepley), that Candice is up to no good at the Cryer home.
