The former South African President’s health continues to improve.

This morning, former South African President Nelson Mandela was discharged from the hospital.

The Nobel Peace Prize recipient was admitted on March 27 received treatment for pneumonia and a recurring lung infection.

CNN reports that the African National Congress has released a statement saying, "Let us continue to keep President Mandela and his family in our prayers as he continues to receive treatment from home.”

Mandela, who is 94-years-old, has not been seen in public since he hosted the World Cup in 2010.
