The couple confirmed the news to ET today: "The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony."
Now we know why Janet Jackson's been smiling from ear-to-ear lately: The mega-star confirmed to ET Online that she married her billionaire boyfriend Wissam Al Mana last year.
"The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true," said Jackson and Al Mana in a statement. "Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony."
The couple kept the festivities low-key, opting to bypass gifts for one another in lieu of charity donations. "Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children's charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this celebration and joy."
This is Jackson's third marriage. She secretly wed James DeBarge in 1984 and was divorced in 1985. Her second marriage to René Elizonda, Jr. lasted from 1991 to 2000.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
