The film is all anyone was talking about this holiday season. Tell us how you feel about it.
If you've been checking social media these past two weeks, chances are the majority of folks on your timeline have been discussing the topic du jour, the film Django Unchained, starring Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson. The film, about a freed slave on a mission to rescue his wife, has certainly sparked serious debates between those who loved it, and those who were thoroughly offended by it.
Most concerning, for many, was Tarantino's use of the N-word (in this film a record 114 times, according to PEOPLE's Alynda Wheat). In an interview with The Root, Tarantino calls the criticism "ridiculous."
"It would be one thing if people are out there saying, 'You use it much more excessively in this movie than it was used in 1858 in Mississippi,'" he says. "Well, nobody's saying that. And if you're not saying that, you're simply saying I should be lying. I should be watering it down. I should be making it more easy to digest."
So tell us: Were you offended by the use of the N-word in Django Unchained, or by the film overall? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
