This year’s VH1 Divas show is shaping up to be one hell of a dance party.
The network announced today that Ciara, Kelly Rowland and Jordin Sparks will be a part of the celebration that pays homage to the divas of dance. The star-studded night will also feature tributes to the late Whitney Houston and Donna Summer. VH1’s EVP, Original Music Production & Development Lee Rolontz said, “The world has truly been inspired by dance music and what better way for VH1 to pay tribute than honoring legends Whitney Houston and Donna Summer through song and dance.”
As previously reported, Houston’s former music director Rickey Minor will executive produce the show. The “I Will Always Love You” singer performed on Divas in 1999, 2002 and 2003. “We all felt that if any show could pay tribute to Whitney’s music, it would be Divas,” said VH1 president Tom Calderone.
In addition, the network tapped Adam Lambert to host the evening’s celebration slated to rock live on Sunday, December 16 at 9 p.m.
Who else do you think should be added to the performance line up?
