The New York Knicks star proposed to his longtime love in Paris.
The NBA season may have ended for New York Knicks star Amar’e Stoudemire, but it’s the beginning of a new chapter for him and his longtime love Alexis Welch.
Stoudemire proposed to Welch yesterday while the lovebirds were vacationing in Paris. Welch, who is the mother of his three children, was shocked when Stoudemire presented her with an engagement ring during a romantic dinner at their penthouse suite at the Le Meurice Hotel Belle Etoile overlooking the Eiffel Tower and dreamy Parisian skyline.
“I have been planning my proposal for a while, and overlooking the entire Paris skyline seemed like a perfect place,” said Stoudemire. “I am so happy she said yes and now we can continue to build our life together as husband and wife.”
Stoudemire designed the engagement ring with Los Angeles-based celebrity jeweler Shayan Afshar. He and Welch first met in 2002 when he was drafted to the Phoenix Suns.
We’re wishing the happy couple continuous joy.
