Jewelry designer denies original engagement announcement.
Earlier this week we thought wedding bells would soon be ringing for actress Halle Berry, but it looks like there may not be any wedding plans after all. A spokesperson for the jewelry company Gurhan, who initially claimed to provide Berry's diamond and emerald engagement ring, is now saying the company is unsure that the ring is theirs.

"Although Halle is a great fan of Gurhan we cannot confirm that she is wearing a Gurhan design," the company said in a follow-up statement reports PEOPLE.

The rumors about the engagement began on Wednesday when a Gurhan rep confirmed that Berry's beau, Olivier Martinez, had purchased one of their pieces to give to Berry as an engagement ring. After Berry was spotted wearing her new bling, it seemed to be confirmation that the two would soon be husband and wife and within hours, congratulations for the pair started pouring in from news sites, Twitter, and the blogosphere.
No word yet from Berry or Martinez's reps.
