Jon Lovett, President Obama’s former speechwriter, is working with NBC to create a new sitcom dubbed, “1600 Penn.” As of now, it’s loosely based on a dysfunctional family that lives in the White House.

Lovett is teaming up with Jason Winer, the director of “Modern Family,” and Josh Gad, star of the Broadway play “Book of Mormon,” to get the project off the ground.
The sitcom will shine a spotlight on the more comedic side of life in the White House, but it won’t be a direct representation of the Obama household.
