Congrats are in order for Phylicia Rashad! The Tony Award-winning stage actress has been named as the first Denzel Washington Chair at Fordham University's Theater at Fordham University.

Denzel donated $2.25 million to his alma mata this week as a proud 1977 graduate of Fordham's Theater Program. The donation will endow the school's first professorship in theater. Rashad will also teach a class next semester.

According to Matthew Maguire, Director of the Theater Program at Fordham, Washington wants to rotate the professorship among well-known actors, directors, playwrights and designers, reports "The New York Times."
We're sure Denzel and Phylicia will have a long-lasting impact on the students at Fordham. What a great way to give back!
