Jill Scott's 'Light of the Sun' Debuts at No. 1

We’ve come to expect nothing but the best from ESSENCE Music Festival headliner Jill Scott. It comes as no surprise that her latest album, “Light of the Sun,” was the best-selling album across all genres in its first week out.

Coming in at 135,000 units, Jilly from Philly beat out indie band Bon Iver and British soul singer Adele.

Meanwhile her single, “So In Love,” a soulful duet with Anthony Hamilton, continues to climb, reaching number one on urban charts.
