Jamie Foxx in Talks to Star in Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained'

Could it be Oscar number two for Jamie Foxx? It just might be, with all the buzz surrounding Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film, “Django Unchained.”

Foxx is reportedly in talks to play the lead role of Django, a freed slave who teams up with a bounty hunter (possibly Leonardo DiCaprio) to free his wife from a plantation owner who wins her in a poker game. Blank stare… but it’s Tarantino, so we’re going to suspend all doubt and let the artist do his work.

Foxx is yet another high-profile name in the running for the role. Will Smith declined, and Idris Elba was rumored to be in talks as well. Side note: Why couldn’t they just cast all three? Can you imagine?

We’re paying close attention the deets on this film, which will be released Christmas Day next year.
