Motherhood suits Mariah Carey well. In a recent interview she talks about how much work it is to be a mom and how much she and husband Nick Cannon are enjoying their new job.
After laying low for awhile, Mariah Carey takes a break from nesting to speak out about what motherhood has been like so far.
Mariah gave birth to twins Monroe and Morrocan in late April, and she's getting used to the demands of motherhood, which she says is "the hardest job in the world."
"It's hard to have kids in this world," Mariah tells the UK's OK! Magazine. "I have so much respect for mothers everywhere, especially those who've had difficult pregnancies or given birth to multiples."
But luckily for Mariah, she's got help. In the interview, she gives hubby Nick Cannon credit where it's due -- revealing that he's quickly gotten the hang of things.
"He already has this natural talent with children -- they take to him right away," Mariah said. "He's so nurturing, loving and fun. He definitely will be a hands-on dad."
It's nice to see the pair pausing to enjoy the moment. Mariah and Nick have both expressed nothing but joy over the arrival of their twins and the newfound responsibility that came with it.
"I feel like, in a lot of ways, children come into the world to teach us," admits Mariah. It's going to be a delicate balance between raising them around glitz and glamour and keeping them grounded. One thing I'm sure of is that I'll be grateful for the twins every day, no matter what."
