Herve Leger
February 15, 2011
Herve Leger's signature skin tight banded dresses continued down the runway for Fall 2011, this time rejuvenated by well-placed cutouts and flecks of leather and metal accents. Dresses in neutral blacks, whites, and creams, mingled with nutmeg, brown, and beige, to offer fearless and fierce silhouettes any Leger fan would enjoy. Body-clinging tanks fitted with leather harnesses, studs, and gold hardware seemed ready for battle. Pants and A-line skirts stood out with leather quilting and houndstooth jacquard prints. The newest collection managed to offer something to the ever-evolving modern woman while also paying tribute to the house's iconic style.

Rachel Roy

February 15, 2011
Somehow Rachel Roy manages to juggle it all. In addition to her wildly popular Rachel Roy and Rachel Rachel Roy lines, the mom is also a regular on the social and charity scene. Her Fall 2011 line reflected the life of a busy career woman, who similarly needs to stylishly transition from day to night with ease by layering and subtracting a key element when they clock out. A chunky belted office perfect cardigan could be taken off to reveal an alluring printed navy and cream silk dress; an ultramarine velvet blazer could stay or go to expose a blue, orange, and pink flecked frock. And of course Roy had a few of her typical silhouettes — a Persian blue knee length long sleeve dress, for example — that would work for both a corporate meeting and cocktail hour. Roy also provided a few new interesting outlines for the weekend, pairing drop crotch trousers with hoodies, and placing fringed turtleneck ponchos with striped harem trousers and chunky boots.

Narciso Rodriguez
February 15, 2011
Stripes and shapes were ubiquitous in Narciso Rodriguez's color blocked Fall 2011 collection, with collarless coats and pants in charcoal and black enlightened by thick cream blocks down the side and front. Models walked in calf length flat suede boots and loose fit midi dresses decorated with geometric slivers of midnight blue, lavender, blush pink, coral, and cobalt. Tops slashed with sculptured blocks of fuchsia and sangria red highlighted neutral wide legged trousers and blazers. While most pieces were silk and wool, the most interesting items mixed chiffon and sequins, and were splashed with speckles of vibrant colors and diagonal lines.
