The rap feud between Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim continues! Lil Kim fired shots this week at Minaj — who Rolling Stone magazine just donned the “Queen of Hip Hop” — after Minaj’s song “Roman’s Revenge,” thought to be a Kim diss record, created a buzz in the blogosphere. In response, Lil’ Kim released “Black Friday” to retaliate against her rival rap star in a new track of the same name. Kim says in the song, “I’m turning Pink Friday to Friday the 13th,” aiming directly at Nicki Minaj and her debut album “Pink Friday,” which was released Monday and is expected to sell over 400,000 in its first week. “Black Friday,” which premiered on Hot 97, attempts to make Minaj look as a copy cat rapper who has adopted Lil’ Kim’s style. Minaj has said in interviews that she once considered Lil Kim as one of her favorite rappers, but recently told Hot 97’s Angie Martinez that the Notorious K.I.M.’s recent behavior isn’t helping her legacy. “I feel like you’re gonna go down in history now as a sore loser, as opposed to going down in history as the queen because if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em,” Minaj told Martinez. “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all. You don’t have to feel the need to put somebody down and make yourself feel better.”
