Every day we feature the beloved “
Strawberry Letter” franchise that is so popular on “
The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” heard nationwide. Send in your letters and Shirley Strawberry will dish out the necessary advice.
Today’s topic: Liar, cheater, good provider Dear Steve and Shirley, I have spent seven years with a man who I thought was the one I would spend my life with. He is the father of our 3-year-old daughter and has taken on the role of father to my 7-year-old son. He even spoke of adopting him. I spent the last two years in nursing school. I graduated with two degrees and currently hold an RN license. Going into school we had this great plan for our family and now everything is destroyed because he has been cheating on me for two years with a 19-year-old bisexual little girl. He is 34 and I am 30. He moved out eight months ago, but was still staying home because I thought we were working it out. I found out he was still messing around. He took this girl on three trips in these eight months and even went to her high school prom. I am disgusted and embarassed. I want to move on with my life, but I feel trapped because I haven’t found a job yet and have to rely on him for every expense. We stopped sleeping together two months ago when everything came out. The worst part is that I am five months pregnant. He acts like what happened is no big deal. Meanwhile, I cry almost every day because he was my best friend and I completely bared my soul to him. I have never felt so betrayed in my life. He just gave me a ring last year and now I’m going to be a a single mom of three children. I wanted to give my kids the family I never had. But where do I go from here? He pays for everything — the house, the car, clothes, food, etc. I don’t want to see or talk to him because my heart has not completely let him go. How do I get over him and move forward?
