'Go There' Wednesdays: 1940s Hair
At the Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2010 runway show, designer John Galliano sent models down the catwalk in steamy, 1940's-inspired silver lam dresses and lace-trimmed rompers. The pieces were gorgeous, but we couldn't help but be distracted by the models' softly waved, Veronica Lake hairstyles. With hair trends getting tougher by the second (think shaved heads and strong pompadours), the wildly feminine, wartime-era styles at the show seemed so fresh and sexy! To do, create a deep side part, and then curl large sections with a jumbo curling iron. Set each section by creating a pin curl. When finished, release the pins and break up the curls with your fingers. Create a perfect swooping wave over one eye by fastening large clips down the length of the front section, about two inches apart. Blast with a blowdryer for 30 seconds, set for twenty minutes, and then remove clips. Voila! Instant film noir gorgeousness. For more Hair stories, click here.
