Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck continues on his tirade on anything to do with people of color. This time he’s going after African Americans, saying the term itself is a ‘bogus, PC, made-up term,’ reports the New York Daily News.
Speaking about forms for the 2010 Census, in which respondents are asked to classify themselves from three boxes, “Black”, “African American” or “Negro,” Beck said, “That is not a race. Your ancestry is from Africa, and now you live in America. Okay, so you were brought over, either your family was brought over in the slave trade, or you were born here and your family immigrated here, or whatever. But that is not a race.”
Media watchdog Think Progress says Beck has previously admitted that he does not have “a lot of African American friends, and I think part of it is because I’m afraid that I would be in an open conversation, and I would say something that somebody would take wrong, and then it would be a nightmare.”
Beck is only one of the many right-wing voices that won’t hush up.
