Read our interview with Brandon McClelland’s mother
Citing a lack of physical evidence or eyewitnesses, a Texas judge dropped all charges against two White men who are accused of hitting a Black man with their truck and then dragging his body behind them, according to the Associated Press. Brandon McClelland, 24, was allegedly friends with the two drivers, Shannon Finley and Charles Crostley, who drove together on a late night beer run last September. On their way home, McClelland allegedly got out of the car to walk home when he thought that Finley was too drunk to drive. According to authorities, Finely ran McClelland over and his body became caught under Finley’s pickup truck. The dismal is drawing fire from civil rights groups like the Nation of Islam and the New Black Panthers who believe that McClelland’s death was racially motivated.-WLW
