After a successful kidney transplant performed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles last Tuesday, Natalie Cole has returned home for a full recovery, according to E! News.
“She is doing well under the circumstances,” her rep, Maureen O’Connor, told E! News.
The “Unforgettable” songstress lost her older adopted sister, Carol “Cookie” Cole, to lung cancer on the same day of her operation. Cookie was a struggling actress who had a small role in the upcoming “The Taking of Pelham One Two Three” starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta.
Cole, 59, was on dialysis since last fall after suffering complications from treatment for Hepatitis C, and received her organ from One Legacy, a transplant donor network in Southern California.
