President Obama announced yesterday that he has asked the office of Management and Budget to go line-by-line through the federal budget looking for areas where they can save tax-payers dollars. As a result, 121 programs will be reduced or cut all together from the 2010 budget in an effort to save money, according to CNN.com. President Obama hopes to weed out those programs that are out-dated and no longer serve a purpose to the American public or have not used tax dollars wisely or effectively including unnecessary defense programs. While the President admits that some of the programs being cut will result in less than a million dollars saved, all of the programs will add up, saving the country $17 billion next year.-WLW
