Tonight the industry’s glitterati will be in full swing at the New York premiere of Beyonce’s latest film, “Obsessed,” at the School of Visual Arts. However, rumors have circulated that Beyonce’s costar and leading man, Idris Elba, would not be attending the evening festivities.
“That’s not true,” says the film’s producer Will Packer. “I spoke to Idris and he will definitely be there tonight celebrating with the rest of the cast and crew.”
The film, which has been compared to an urban remake of the 90s thriller, “Fatal Attraction,” features the Grammy-winning pop phenom as a doting housewife who comes face-to-face with her husband’s (Elba) crazed stalker (Ali Larter). This marks the “Halo” singer’s first role where she will not portray a sultry singer as she has done in previous blockbusters such as “Austin Powers: Gold Member,” “Dreamgirls,” and “Cadillac Records.”
