Oscar winner Jamie Foxx who has made a career out of his portrayals of living legends including Ray Charles (“Ray”) and schizophrenic violinist Nathanial Ayers, in “The Soloist,” and will take his cinematic turn as former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson on the silver screen this year, according to the boxer.
The legendary boxer revealed the news during a question-and-answer session with audience members at the premiere of his new documentary, “Tyson,” last night. Sony Pictures Classic showed the film, which is a candid one-on-one with the fighter about the trials and tribulations in his life, at the Loews Theater in New York City. Tyson didn’t share the release date of the movie or expand on the plot.—JW
