President Obama has another “first” under his belt. He will be the first acting President to use e-mail and will keep using (albeit limited to corresponding with senior staffers and close friends) his beloved BlackBerry, according to the Associated Press. Members of the Secret Service, White House attorneys and staff all helped the President to ensure that his communication will remain private and protected and his e-mail address has been greatly guarded.
Previous presidents have chosen not to use e-mail because of the risk that whatever is written can be subpoenaed by Congress and courts. But it has been a hard transition for Mr. Obama.
When asked by the Associated Press about his worst habit during the campaign, Obama responded, “Checking my BlackBerry.—WLW
