John McCain and Sarah Palin arrived at the Arizona Biltmore to address the crowd. It was not the news they waited for hours to hear. McCain informed them Barack Obama won the presidency after the longest campaign in U.S history.
Boos and chants were heard throughout the crowd. McCain gave thanks to his wife, mother and dear friends for their support. He also thanked Sarah Palin. McCain urged all Americans to join and congratulate President-Elect Barack Obama and come together as fellow Americans. “African-Americans have something to be very proud off,” said McCain. Linda S. of Phoenix, a McCain supporter, shared her thoughts on the Republican incumbent. “He is a very good man, a wonderful man. I am obviously disappointed. I just hope that the country can come together, but I am afraid that this will divide it.”
