Bad-girl supermodel Naomi Campbell might be ready to hang up her stilettos and kiss her 20-year modeling career good-bye.
The 38-year-old British muse told a London Times reporter that she’s proud to see more Black models getting some shine on major fashion magazine covers and now might be the perfect time for her to bow out.
“This time they (designers and magazine editors) have stepped it up. I feel positive. That means that I can go soon,” she told the Times Reporter.
Campbell’s reluctance to leave the runways had everything to do with the potential of the the lack of diversity in the fashion industry becoming more severe.
The Jamaican beauty was the first Black model to grace the cover of French Vogue and was one of four models to appear on the historical all-Black models cover of the July 2008 issue of Vogue Italia.
