RX For Cold Season: More Sex!

To ward off a nasty cold this fall and winter, don't stop by the drug store-try a little love making!

A study at Wilkes-Barre University in Pennsylvania suggests that frequent sex, especially in a happy, long-term relationship can boost the immune system by providing relaxation and social support, according to psychologytoday.com.

Researchers took saliva samples from 44 male and 67 female college students. Those having sex once or twice a week had higher levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA), an antibody key to immune functioning, than did those having sex less than once a week. Interestingly, students who made love more than twice a week had lower levels of the antibody. Proof there may be too much of a good thing.--CMc
