I have loved essence since i have began reading the magazine in 2001, it has always been so informative and stylish. I have also wondered if there have ever thought to be a teen edition of esence. I think it would be a very good thing for teens help to them focus on furthering and completing their education, help with present and future finances, given them the heads up on credit card usage and just basically dealing with being a american teenager in this time. Well just thought it would be good for our future CEOS,Teachers,Chemist and etc. Thanks for all the guidance essence.

Essence you kill me. I am referring to your November issue page 66 right column entitled, Rescue Me. Half of those black men or either married or do not date AA women exclusively. Anyone can google these men and see for themselves who they chose to date and marry.

If Essence is no longer a magazine(now white owed) for black women please tell me because this will be my last subscription to Essence. And, yes I did notice at the bottom of your articles links to other sites such as the one promoting Lamar and Khole. Essence I do not give a DAM about those two idiots and I do not appreciate you trying to ease that type of mess in.

I'm over Essence always having articles about just Black men. I married a white man, and I think the whole idea of looking for the right "black man" is played out. They are NOOOOO different than any other men out there. Just love who you wana love regardless of skin color. I don't understand why black men date all types but black women seem so hesitant. Ren, that is so true most of the black women in my family about 90% are married, divorced or widowed. Media is brain washing black women to make it seem like nobody is checking for them funny thing it's working..LMAOOOOOOOO!

Yet it appears that because of the media focus on black celebrities married to white women, many black women interpret this as wide spread abandonment. I have attended countless functions where successful black men are in attendance with their black wives. It has become a myth that grows despite all evidence to the contrary. What is true, however, is the black man's preference for lighter skinned black women over darker ones.
