The Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Paint Atlanta Pink and Green

Approximately 20,000 African-American women painted ATL pink and green this week at Alpha Kappa Alpha’s 67th International Convention—or Boulé—held in Atlanta, GA.    Aside from conducting the business of the sorority, the community service-based organization founded on January 15, 1908 on the campus of Howard University, will carry out several acts of service including the packaging of 100,000 meals in collaboration with Stop Hunger Now, participate in playground restoration projects at local parks and schools, and holding a school supply and backpack donation drive. Through sisterhood and service, these ladies are officially taking the southern city over.
