Prince Documentary In The Works Set For 2017 Release

'Prince: R U Listening?' will include contributions from Lenny Kravitz, Mick Jagger, Sheila E, and Bono.  

A Prince documentary is headed to the big screen.

Prince: R U Listening? will focus on the late icon's rise to fame and include contributions from music industry peers like Lenny Kravitz, Sheila E, and Mick Jagger. The documentary tells Prince's story through the eyes of friends, family, and regular collaborators.

There's currently not much else known about the film aside from an anticipated 2017 release.

This is just one of many projects in the works since Prince's death. Paisley Park recently opened as a museum and a four-day celebration is planned for April and will include guided tours and performances from bands like The Revolution and Morris Day and The Time.

News of the upcoming documentary comes after the recent release of Prince 4Ever, a collection of unreleased songs and hits; a Purple Rain reissue is expected to arrive next year.
