The articles could be more in-depth and professional. There should be limited space per post; we don't need dissertations here. Only relevant articles on the Obamas.

I did not agree with steve harvey or the morning show. I am a victim of domestic violence. I have been there and I am one standing up for the race. My question to RIRI, why has it taken this long for you to stand up? My son was just stabbed by a girl because he looked at another girl. He is fighting for his life but who id fighting for him? My cousin is in a wheelchair because of his wife. He caught her cheating. Are we all concerned because these are celebrities? And essence, where have you been? I have studied this and men and women have died due to domestic abuse. IT IS TIME FOR UNITY IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY. I have heard steve and angela speak of forgiveness. Well that is hypocrisy from them. They want to crucify this boy. SHAME SHAME SHAME. I GOT OUT, FORGAVE AND IT IS POSSIBLE TO MOVE ON. THAT IS MY TESTIMONY.

Essence, I love the new site and all the up to date news you provide. I have one thing that I am tired of seeing in look like everytime I come to Essence site I see them and it's getting pretty boring to see and it's The Obama's. Hey, I'm all for the new president and his family but I am all so sick of seeing them to. I thank God for a black president. But please give them a rest! I'm begging you... You know what? I heard the cheif editor on the Steve Harvey's show today and I agreed with her 100%. Those of you who got mad at what she said and don't want to renew with this magazine anymore are one of the reasons why abused woman are afraid to talk about the abuse they are going through, because people like you always want to put the blame on the woman for getting abused. The editor was right when she said that women of color DON'T STICK TOGETHER! I'm for one glad Rihanna is speaking out about it because maybe it will wake some of the woman up that's being abused before they can't wake up anymore.

I do not want you to forward emails to me this is due to today, I heard your cheif editor on the Steve Harvey show saying things about black women who do not agree with the Rihanna going on Tv about what happen.You may not want to hear this but there is some crazy young girls. Oh guess what I have two daughters no sons and have never been beaten. I truly could care less, but you do not speak for all people as we do not know what happen. This girl does not care about young girls she is in the busienss of trying to sell her new CD.

I'm sorry, but this site is terrible. It's hard to find articles, and I hate how I have to keep going through the process of having to get to an article from the home page. The site has errors on the pages, the autoscroll is too fast and unattractive, too much white space, and the site as a whole is just busy from the side bar to the area of the content. The old site was busy too, but it was a far better layout and more attractive design. I can understand that Essence wants to streamline their site, but this revision took them in the wrong direction. What Essence needs is a streamlined content management system and they should invest in a Web Technical Communicator.
