Two Black Women Voted Mayor in Pennsylvania Cities

Two cities in Pennsylvania elected African-American women as their mayors for the first time yesterday, according to the Associated Press. In York, Pennsylvania, Democrat Kim Bracey beat Republican Wendell Banks in the general election. This comes forty years after race riots in a Central Pennsylvania town that led to the death of a White police officer and a Black woman.

Linda Thompson, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, beat Republican Nevin Mindlin.

Thanks for the story Essence, I heard nothing of this elsewhere in the media. Also it's interesting that a news like this on this site draws very few comments, yet articles about fashion and appearance sometimes draw hundreds! Wake up everbody!
