Video: Black Men in the Age of President Obama

For the anniversary of the election of President Barack Obama, we gathered some friends and asked them a few questions about how life as a Black man has changed since the election of our first African-American president.

I'd like to offer a unique proposal that influential Black men & women could tacklet to improve the collective lives of Black Americans. It is a unique reparations proposal that would be supported by all Americans, pay 5 times more than what current proposals call for and help strengthen the black family. Check out my idea at www.blackeconomicreparations.blogspot.com

I really love and appreciate this video. These men are what I call real Black men. Not a part of the daily stereotypes you see paraded in the mainstream media. My heart is filled with estatic joy that Barack can influence some black men to want to do and be better.

As a black woman I can't ask for anything more.

I think President Obama, has done good since he has been in office. I think I will contact U.A.W 1111 this week, to see if Manpower staffing will give me my job back at Ford a.k.a. A.C.H & Visteon. I think I need to talk to Stan Huddleston, Bren Smith , Chrystal Elliot, Missy, perhaps!

I think President Obama, has done good since he has been in office. Just keep waiting for your piece of the billions of dollars, stimulus package, to arrive!

Honestly, really, President O'bama is a great example of what you can accomplish if you focus on a goal. The interesting thing is we all have the ability to aspire for more for ourselves. When we start letting our fears control us we lose sight of the opportunities that are presented to us everyday. Remember to focus on the positive and you'll be able to pick your points. Competition only takes us so far, co-operation allows us to prosper beyond what we can imagine. Without that President O'bama would have never been able to get elected President and this goes for every elected official. When we do this regardless of race, gender, or socio-economic strata we will progress as a nation. Let's understand one another for our essence and not for our differences. Gen Xers awaken.

I am so proud that the country pulled together and elected Barrack Obama as President, He cares about education, health care, and unemployment and he is doing all he can to make things better. It has only been a year, and I must say he has only just begun. We can all pull together with him and do what we can to help our President make it happen. Remember it was not just black people that voted him in, so let's not make this a black and white issue. This was a joint effort and it is going to take that same thing to change the economy.

The primary thing President Barack Obama's election to the White House did for this country and its Black Males was to prove "finally" an Intelligent, Articulate,Confident Black Man can do ANYTHING !!! Is my lfe going to change right away?....in some ways it already has...Like tens of thousands of other Americans of ALL races, I still have my home because of programs he initiated!!
There is a President that actually cares if I have Health Insurance or not?? As a Black Man, my feeling is that, Black Males need to pull our pants up, take care of OUR children and respect OUR women!! The President has my utmost respect because he's Positive and Powerful, yet thoughtful of others at the same time.....Republicans and Conservatives are simply STILL pissed off that a Black Man is in the White House, but history will soon show undeniably.....President Barack Obama will be considered one of top 3 Presidents this country has EVER had !!!!
