A philanthropist, mother, writer and actress, Rashan Ali is also a top-rated radio personality on Atlanta's popular 107.9 radio station and a sideline reporter for the Atlanta Hawks. Ali has acted in a number of films, including Chocolate City, Big Ain't Bad and Trois 3: The Escort. She attended Florida A&M University after receiving swimming and academic scholarships and earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, graduating magna cum laude. Her love of swimming and commitment to community prompted her to found her own nonprofit organization, Sporty Girls Inc., which encourages girls from the ages of 8–18 to swim and play golf, tennis and soccer. Ali has received numerous honors, including the Coalition of 100 Black Women's Unsung Heroine Award and the YWCA's Women of Achievement Honor.
