Robin Roberts

Robin Roberts of ABC News' Good Morning America, is also an advocate for the early detection and screening for breast cancer, a diagnosis she received in 2007.

A Mississippi Gulf Coast native, Roberts reported live amid Hurricane Katrina's devastation and launched GMA Gets It Done to help rebuild the area.

Prior to ABC, Roberts covered basketball for ESPN. She graduated cum laude from Southeastern Louisiana University as a standout performer on the women's basketball team, inspiring the Robin Roberts Sports Journalism Scholarship.
Roberts' many honors include being inducted into the Women's Institute on Sport and Education Foundation's Hall of Fame.

In 2007 she published her first book, From the Heart: Seven Rules To Live By. The new paperback version includes an additional chapter of inspiration since she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
