"It felt amazing to be a bride," said Vecoya. "The day was perfect and it was more that I dreamed of! I got to marry my best friend, surrounded by family and friends, with the perfect view! I wouldn’t change a thing."
"Vecoya is the total package," said Eugene of his bride. "She is a Christian, beautiful, family oriented, goal driven, and ambitious. She is the type of person that will motivate you just by being in their presence. Vecoya truly holds me down and makes me better."
"I definitely thought it could be possible," said Eugene of knowing he'd find true love. "I always thought Vecoya was beautiful from my undergrad days so she already had me from the physical aspect. I knew us hanging out again in 2015 could be a different experience simply because I was a different man in a different place in my life mentally. I knew exactly what I wanted out of a relationship. On average most women know what they want but as a man it takes a pivotal point in your life. At that stage in my life I truly learned about myself and was able to let my guards down allowing myself to be vulnerable to allow true love to take over."
"I cried and he cried," shared the bride. "Our guests came up to us at the reception joking about everyone shedding tears at our ceremony. It was an emotional moment where everyone could feel our love for each other."
"I knew he was the one early into us dating because when we are around each other nothing else matters. One Saturday we were chilling at his house, we ate breakfast that morning then sat and talked at his kitchen table for hours! We joked about guessing what time it was because I didn't have my phone near and the clock on his oven was broken. It turns out it was 2 o'clock in the afternoon. We were able to talk without a TV or phone to distract us for all that time. Furthermore, I wasn't even concerned about anything else but our conversation. I knew then that this was different and special!"
"I felt so blessed that God sent her in my life to become my wife," said the groom of being at the altar with his bride. "I couldn’t take my eyes off her, she was so gorgeous. I cried tears of joy and didn’t care who saw me."
"I have always been attracted to Vecoya since undergrad," recalled Eugene. "In my eyes she always had that "it" factor, where when she walks in the room you know she's there. She is beautiful, smart, and ambitious. What truly put the nail in the coffin for me was during summer 2015 one of my favorite dates was a random night we stayed up listening to music and talking and then I suggested lets go to a playground and she was down. So we drove around looking for a playground with a swing and then we found one. We stayed up talking on the playground for hours. We lost all track of time and didn't even think to check our phones (which is rare this day and age). We have so many of the same interests, beliefs, and a similar upbringing. At that moment I realized we can have fun together in any moment, be ourselves, and it all feel natural. After that day I couldn't get her out my mind. I knew she was the one for me."
"I said yes because God reintroduced us into each others life’s at the perfect time when we could really value and appreciate each other the right way," shared the bride. "I mean we pray together, motivate each other, turn up together, everything. He’s really my best friend. Before dating Eugene I did not think this was possible. So anyone out there that feels like genuine love is impossible, keep hope alive! It’s possible. It sounds so cliche, but the right guy or girl will show you through their actions that they are serious about you. It won’t be just words."
"I love his patience, he teaches kindergarten and gives 100% at work," said Vecoya of Eugene. "Despite, giving so much energy at work and being pulled 100 different directions, he still comes home with a great attitude. He’s truly one of a kind."
"I thought I would be nervous because there were so many people present but it was amazing, when I looked into his eyes it was like it was no one else there, like it was just us and nothing else mattered," shared the bride of how she felt on her wedding day.
