"Truth is: I was hesitant to say yes to this show initially."

Could you imagine tuning into Power on Sunday nights and seeing a face other than Omari Hardwick's portraying lead character Ghost? This was almost a reality, but thankfully the actor's wife, Jae Hardwick, whom he married in 2012, prayed for her husband's direction to pursue the role and it lead him to it.

On Instagram, Hardwick revealed his own truth about the life-changing role.

"Truth is: I was hesitant to say yes to this show initially," he wrote in a caption underneath a photo of himself outside the Starz hit show's fictional nightclub, Truth.

"Perhaps it truly was an example of what it looks like when we run from our call, in this case...mine-to be of high stature in this business. I was cool with the decade of work being 1 where my craft & presence played it's part. Between the 45 days of prayer from a one @mrsjaeh asking God to "help me embrace my Power & Dominion" (yes, that word: power), & sitting down even a month after THAT with a one @ckagbohofficial & then talking to a one @50cent .....God had answered that prayer & spoke to me."

Truth is: i was hesitant to say yes to this show initially. Perhaps it truly was an example of what it looks like when we run from our call, in this case...mine-to be of high stature in this business. I was cool with the decade of work being 1 where my craft & presence played it's part. Between the 45 days of prayer from a one @mrsjaeh asking God to "help me embrace my Power & Dominion" (yes, that word: power), & sitting down even a month after THAT with a one @ckagbohofficial & then talking to a one @50cent .....God had answered that prayer & spoke to me. My truth was: indeed i was to embrace this power & become comfortable with THE part. 1 that has changed so so so many things in mi vida loco & proven that more will keep changing. Truth is: what will never change in me is my ability to not only see who really really matters on a team, but to equally express it. Truth is: As much as the incredible honor of being nominated for @peopleschoice will leave most to many congratulating we the cast; it is the CREW, the TEAMSTERS (& my individual drivers), each & EVERY single DEPARTMENT who pour in tireless hours upon hours (yes often with me) to make this special show special. It is our network @power_starz & all of it's special EXECS. It is the PRODUCTION office, the PRODUCERS & the oh so gifted WRITERS @powertvwriters. The congrats is from me to all of you above. Truth is: The people who pour equally into your eyes & ears & hearts...hours upon hours of watching our work, scrutinizing, rewinding, loving, hating & just flat out FEELING some kind of way about our show, that us ultimately left us here. That has left my ghost sooo SEEN. SO Congratulations to you! Your appreciation of me & my guys has been HEARD. Making it the best award a team could ever be nominated for because it's FROM you, the PEOPLE👊🏽✨
