On Tyler Perry’s TBS series “Meet the Browns,” Brown’s nephew Will (Lamman Rucker) married his coworker Sasha (Denise Boutte’). The two have to find time to enjoy each other alone, as they take care of foster kids and help Brown with the house for seniors.
“He’s really down to earth, has a great sense of humor and is very giving and supportive in his relationships,” Rucker said of his character.
On the much anticipated “Family Guy” spin-off “The Cleveland Show,” we see Cleveland Brown return home and reunite with his high school sweetheart Donna Tubbs, voiced by Sanaa Lathan. We’re itching to see this cartoon with a Black family and counting on Lathan and Regan Gomez-Preston to keep the creators in line.
We heart Jill Scott’s detective Mma Ramotswe on HBO’s “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency,” based on the novels. After selling her father’s cows to start her own detective agency, one of her first cases involves her husband’s cheating. The experience doesn’t sour her on love as she leaves the relationship and finds happiness with JLB Matekoni.
We hope customer sales representative Kelly Kapoor (Mindy Kaling) learned her lesson on “The Office,” after giving her boyfriend, the company’s warehouse formean, Darryl Philbin (Craig Robinson), an ultimatum of her or his daughter. We’re glad he made the right decision of his daughter, but still holding on to hope for a reconciliation.
On Sherri Shepherd’s new sitcom “Sherri,” she uses her own life story for inspiration. Malcolm Jamal Warner stars as her ex-husband who she caught cheating. Though the two aren’t romantically involved on the show, plenty of women can relate to having to deal with an ex for the sake of children. And after slimming down, Sherri is hoping there will be a flashback on the show of happier times of the two.
“I told the writers I am ready for a sex scene!” she told ESSENCE.com.
Yes, there is sex and romance after 50! And we are excited to meet the Trainors (CCH Pounder and Carl Weathers) on Michael Strahan’s new show “Brothers.” The couple have to adjust to a new mouth to feed after their son Michael, a former NFL star, returns home broke.
