Gideon Moncrieffe, 29, former bachelor from ESSENCE’s popular 30 Dates in 30 Days, has taken his search for love online.
“The one thing that I realized about the online dating scene is that, there are real people looking for real love to be reciprocated unconditionally,” he says.

Gideon shares a few of the things he loves most about Black women.
“For the physical, let’s just say from the tip of their toes to the shapely hips and full lips, Black women are as sexy as they come.”
Born and bred in New York City, Gideon spends his days as a film and music producer.
As Gideon’s friends settle down, he looks forward to meeting his own soul mate and trading in his groomsmen title for groom.

Gideon’s account caught the eye of Match.com execs who featured him in a national campaign as a member of the site.
“I have not met my soul mate yet, but I have met some really interesting people and new friends,” he says of dating online.
For a first date, the Brooklyn native wants it to be as comfortable and fun as possible.
“With a woman I once was head over heels, for our first date we went to The Brooklyn Museum and then to a local lounge. We had a great time,” he shares.
Gideon’s work in television keeps him traveling, including the Sundance Film Festival, where he met actress Megan Goode.
Gideon recognizes the strength that sisters inherit.
“As a people we have been through a lot and a Black woman’s mentality to get through thick and thin and make it work is amazing to me.”
