Young stunner Tolula Adeyemi chronicles her adventures at the tents.
Day #1: Ralph Rucci - Canceled
"This was my look for couture designer Ralph Rucci's 'A Quiet American in Paris' screening on the Upper East Side, [but it] never happened! I got dressed up in Wendy Brandes jewels and a cornflower blue PPQ dress, only to discover on arrival that the event was canceled due to a 'technical glitch.' I am thinking something is up, as Rucci's show was also cancelled at NYFW."
Day #2: Lincoln Center
“My first day of NYFW was sunny and bright, so I wore a sunny and bright floral print by new Brit Helen Steele. The rings and necklace are by Wendy Brandes and the bracelet is by Rachel Galley, who I am designing a capsule collection with. I Love NYFW.”
Day #2: Fashion Divas
“Look who I bumped into at Lincoln Center after a show: stylist Marian Kihogo of mariankihogo.com! We happened to be wearing the same designer, Helen Steele, although she was wearing a head scarf and I was wearing a dress.”
Day #2: Belles & Whistles
“I was visited by the jewelry designer Wendy Brandes, who wanted to show me her wonderful new collection of jewels! Here Wendy is showing me her Wolf Whistle necklace (I call it that!), which is one of my faves! The gold whistle is dotted with diamonds and it has a wolf in it with diamond eyes!”
Day #2: Dazzling
“Here is a closeup of my favourite necklaces by Wendy Brandes.”
Day #2: Look of the Day
"My first show to watch at NYFW was the Nonoo NY presentation. I went to support my good friend, lingerie designer and actress Marissa Montgomery, who is great friends with Mischa Nonoo, the designer. The collection was very pretty. I especially loved the red tux suit, which had ankle-length trousers (see next pic).
"I wore a DKNY aviator jacket, hat by H&M, trousers from the new Brit label House of Sunny, bag by DKNY, shoes by Y3 and crop top from Religion.
"I chatted with the lovely Natalie, fashion editor of Guest of a Guest, about her fashion advice column and how it's always been a fantasy of mine to have a Carrie Bradshaw-style column. But probably for fashion and not relationships!
"Congratulations to Nonoo NY, who is also showing in Paris this season."
Day #2: Silky Wine
“I simply loved this red tux suit, with ankle-length trousers.”
Day #2: Green with Envy
“I loved the lines and cuts of the fabric, and the rich autumn shades this fall. I’m also loving this new ankle length of trousers — I am seeing a lot of this lately!”
Day #2: Red with Passion
“I loved the easy separates and fabulous cuts unexpectedly paired with furs! I also love the colors of red in the collection — just in time for Valentine’s Day!”
Day #2: First Class
“Look at this final look of the Nonoo collection: to die for!”
Day #2: Helmut Lang
“This is my Helmut Lang front-row look. I’m wearing a dress from his S/S 2012 collection. I loved the show.”
Day #2: Seated in Style
“I was seated next to my favorite young supermodel, Coco Rocha, and favorite stylist, Marian Kihogo!”
Day #2: Front Row
“I’ve long been a fan of Helmut Lang’s edgy, conceptual aesthetic, so I was happy to be invited to sit front row at his show and wear a dress from the new S/S collection. This was one of the first looks.”
Day #2: Model Jourdan Dunn
“My fellow Brit and other favorite supermodel, Jourdan Dunn, closed the show!”
Day #2: Bravo
“The end of a fabulous show.”
Day #2: Dine and Dash
“After the Nonoo show I had lunch with Marissa Montgomery, a London friend living in NY and designing for Victoria’s Secret & her own lingerie line called Pussy Glamorre, which I have modeled campaigns for in London. We met up with French photographer Antoine Verglas at a lovely French bistro in Soho. We also celebrated Antoine’s assistant Leera’s birthday. In the picture I am wearing my DKNY jacket, H&M hat, bracelet by Rachel Galley and ring by Wendy Brandes.”
Day #2: Strike a Pose
“This is my dress by Gestuz that I wore to the party at the Boom Boom Room, where the Kills performed.”
Day #2: Boom Boom Room
The Kills performance + Wu Tang Clan @ Milk Studios: “Two very different NYFW performances require velvet & lace leggings, polka dot pop socks and satin black Emporio Armani heels!”
Day #3: Lucio Castro
Final day at New York Fashion Week, then heading back to London for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). “Im wearing a Helmut lang shirt and Jena Theo shoes with a Rachel Galley necklace and bracelet.”
Day #3: Beautiful Boys
“In between meetings today I managed to see some lovely boys on the presentation runway for Lucio Castro.”
