Christina and Jeremy met in high school while growing up in Mobile, AL, went to college in neighboring cities, and had many mutual friends, but didn’t make a love connection until well after graduation.
After bumping into each other at a college party, Christina almost passed on reconnecting with her soon-to-be Prince Charming. “I had heard that he was a ‘ladies man,’ so I had my reservations,” recalls Christina. Ladies, this only proves, you can’t always judge a book by its cover.
“When I reconnected with Christina after college, I thought to myself, ‘This time I’m not going to let her slip away,’” says Jeremy about his nightclub run-in with his wife-to-be. This time his efforts proved successful and Christina slowly began to give into his charms.
For his romantic proposal, Jeremy staged a birthday party for a family friend. When the pair arrived at the party, Jeremy led Christina into a room full of her family and friends, got on one knee and proposed while the pair was serenaded. “It was like time stood still,” recalls Christina.
During their first year of dating, Christina and Jeremy lived two and a half hours apart. “After much prayer and never giving up, Jeremy landed a great job in the city where I lived. It taught us to never settle for anything less than what God has in store for us,” says Christina.
“Our engagement has been so exciting. Going to tastings, beginning marital counseling, and taking our engagement photos has been great. But the most exciting part is anticipating the big day when we will officially become Mr. and Mrs. York,” says Christina.
