President-elect Barack Obama and his family have moved into the luxurious Hay-Adams Hotel in Washington, D.C., prior to moving into the Blair House, the White House’s official guest house, on January 15.
When asked about staying at the hotel, Obama told a group of reporters that while Michelle and the girls are having fun, “…living in a hotel for two weeks, we kind of did that for two years.”

Michelle calls her mother “their secret weapon.” When Malia and Sasha’s parents were busy on the campaign trail, they remained back home with their grandmother. Robinson plans to move to Washington, D.C., to be with her family.
On January 20, Barack Obama will officially take over the White House. Expect Malia and Sasha to be front and center during much of the inaugural festivities. For the Obamas, this day will mark the start of an extraordinary and historic journey.
