The collection features, " ‘lighter than air’ fabrics that have all of the richness and texture of a fall collection without the bulk of fall fabrics. Laser-cut chiffon, re-embroidered organza, faux leather sequins on stretch net and hand knits constructed of cut strips of printed cotton voile ALL make you just want to reach out and touch them!"
This season makes Knight’s first debut at New York Fashion Week since his ‘Project Runway’ show. For his debut he’s selected a very eclectic theme.
“This collection is about extracting the beauty from the beasts," says Knight. “My youthful fascinations with dinosaurs of the Mesozoic Era are sportively brought to life.”
“For me inspiration may come from many sources… no boundaries… and it may come at any time,” explains b.Michael exclusively to ESSENCE.com. “This collection is inspired more by a life-style or state of being… it is a very positive sensibility that I am feeling… It will cover every aspect of my customers’ life-style from day into evening… I am achieving the positive feeling through the use of color and clothes that compliment a woman’s strength and sensuality”
Reese speaks on the myriad of inspirations and elements for her Spring 2012 collection, “Subtle hues of khaki and blush mixed with pastel shades of waterfall, misty blue and aqua tears gradually intensify to deep saturated tones and neon brights, making a bold splash for the transition into summer. A drapey culotte jumpsuit in waterfall, complimented with drawstring waist and seductive neckline details, pairs with a lemon zest hat and printed platform sandals to embody the relaxed mood of the season,” says Reese.”
