President Obama took the podium last night to deliver his 14th speech post-tragedy. During his speech, he sent his condolences to the families of the victims killed in Wednesday’s Charleston shooting and expressed frustration at the country’s lackluster gun laws. “Any death of this sort is a tragedy,” he said. “Any shooting involving multiple victims is a tragedy. Lester Holt is now a history maker! NBC announced yesterday that Holt, a veteran reporter, would be the new host of NBC Nightly News, making him the first permanent Black anchor in the show’s history.
