After meeting four years ago, Rashida Morgan and Richard Brown celebrated their love in a beach wedding with 200 family and friends on May 23, 2009, in Rochester, New York.

Richard proposed to Rashida at his mother’s 50th birthday party with all of their friends and family present.
Rashida’s makeup artist Nutcha Elianor finishes her look after styling her hair for the big day.
Richard awaits the moment for him and Rashida to say “I do.” The two lovebirds moved in together after two years of dating, which strengthened their relationship.
“I think living together actually made him want to get married more because the trust and respect was there,” Rashida says.
Before heading down the aisle, Rashida reminisces on her four-year relationship with Richard.
Rashida’s dad, Delroy Morgan, escorts her down the aisle and shares his well wishes.
“There is never a dull moment with him, she says. “He’s given us the Barack and Michelle wedding seal of approval.”
Rashida and Richard were happy to see the sun shining on their special day.
“Having outdoor weddings can be tricky, but the day was blessed,” she says.
The newlyweds grin after exchanging their rings.
“He makes me laugh all of the time. He is very supportive and always motivates me,” Rashida says.
The couple and the wedding party soak up the sunshine in the sand.
The husband and wife ease on down the aisle of the sunny affair.
“Richard and I love the beach and wanted a Caribbean-inspired wedding since Richard was born in Jamaica and I am from Jamaican lineage,” Rashida says.
As guests wait for the wedding party to arrive, live music gets the party started.
Richard exits the limo to enter his wedding reception. He first caught Rashida’s attention when he was driving a cab from his company, to take her home from the airport.
Rashida and Richard greet their guests as husband and wife. The happy couple share living together isn’t for everyone and that it’s more than having someone to help with the bills.
“You learn a lot about a person,” she shares.
The Mr. and Mrs. work the dance floor to their songs “Ribbon in the Sky” by Stevie Wonder and “No Air” by Chris Brown and Jordin Sparks.
The guests work the dance floor and the newlyweds cut costs by having Richard’s cousin DJ the party.
Friends and family shared their well wishes on a poster that now hangs in the couple’s condo.

The couple cut their four-tier cake. The top layer is vanilla with baileys filling, which they took home to eat on their one-year anniversary.

Rashida looks forward to her new life with Richard after a perfect day.
“It was a perfect day! Not too cold and not too hot. I think it was God’s blessing,” she says.
The 200 guests enjoy the special day on Lake Ontario Beach, with a wedding party of nine bridesmaids, nine groomsmen, two flower girls and two ring bearers.

Having tested the waters on living together, the newlyweds confidently begin their happily ever after, starting with a honeymoon in Hawaii.
“It doesn’t feel different between Richard and I now that we are married. It just feels like we were able to have a big celebration with our friends and family!”
