Guests stayed at the local casino hotels during the couple’s wedding weekend. Their wedding rings were photographed on a room key to create what we’re sure will be one of their favorite keepsake photos.
The happy couple never looked at any other wedding venue besides this idyllic one they chose. “Before Reggie and I were engaged, my father gave us a tour of Tunica, Mississippi and he took us to the Tunica Riverpark,” recalls Jasmine. “As he was driving the winding road leading to the river park, I knew it was where we would wed.”
After falling for each other over the phone on the Fourth of July 2009, Jasmine and Reginald met face-to-face for the first time. “I was impressed with his straight forwardness and his gentle soul,” she tells us. “Before we met, he emailed me a poem, which I still read from time to time. A month later we were an item.”
When the couple set out to find the perfect wedding location they were drawn to the Riverpark Garden. “I love gardens and nature,” says Jasmine. “Plus, Reggie and I both grew up in small Arkansas communities and the garden reminded us of our small hometowns.”
During Jasmine and Reginald’s wedding weekend, all advice and wisdom were welcome. The couple put out these lovely blank cards for guests to leave their well wishes and kind words. A sweet idea they’re sure to look back on to help them relive the memories again and again.
The lovebirds chose an eclectic and vibrant palette of crimson (to represent her Delta Sigma Theta Sorority color), purple (to represent his Omega Psi Phi fraternity color), lime green (for their shared love of nature), and ivory. It really made their personalized details pop.
We love the way the couple chose to go with organic elegance for their centerpiece displays. The combination of branches and blooms at varying heights made for a picture perfect dinner conversation piece.
“We had three long king tables for our 130 guests to be seated,” says Jasmine. “Each table had a variation of either white hydrangeas in silver mint julep cups, submerged orchids, and floating candles, or large arrangements of white and magenta dendrobium orchids and curly willow.” The result was absolutely lovely. The crimson and purple work so well together, don’t they?
Beautiful fondant phalaenopsis orchids draped the couple’s elegant four tier round cake. Once the cake was cut, guests were treated to three delicious flavors of fun to choose from buttercream, strawberry, and red velvet.
Reginald feeds his new wife Jasmine a fork full of their delicious wedding cake. The love they share shines through every single photo.
The Glow of Love
“I love candles and I wanted our reception to be filled with the glow of the sunset and the candles,” says Jasmine. “We were wed on the river and one of the walls in our reception area had floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river.”
The romantic purple lighting really helped to set the mood for love during Jasmine and Reginald’s lounge-themed reception. Guests young and old partied until the wee hours of the morning with the fun-loving bride and groom.
