"I realized that he was the one that I wanted to share a future with and start our own little family together," says Brittany. "He knew how important my family is to me and we both discovered that it is one of the values that we share."
“I never expected to find my true love at a frat party in college or date a Que (my dad is an Alpha and he told me to stay away from those guys…lol),” Brittany admits. “But God has a funny way of giving me exactly what I need at the right time. He knew that I needed a companion like Walt to guide me through life and grow with.”
Formal and Fab
“The dress is designed by Dessy in the color Persian plum,” says Brittany. “I knew that I wanted that particular shade of purple from the beginning. It was the perfect shade of bright purple and really looked amazing on brown girls. I wanted a dress that was flattering on all shapes and sizes. I also wanted to make sure that it was formal and also conservative enough for a church wedding, but sassy enough for a formal wedding.”
“We basically grew into adulthood together (started dating when we were 21) and I would not be the woman I am today had it not been for him,” says Brittany. “He understands me and is my calming force. He always tries to put me first and treats me the way that a man should always treat a lady. He is my protector.”
For a large bridal, this group sure knew how to synchronize a pose!
When It Just Feels Right
“It felt amazing to be a bride,” says Brittany. “It was everything that I expected it to be because I got to marry the love of my life and celebrate with all of our loved ones all at the same place. All of our guests were so excited and the atmosphere was unexplainable. I felt so calm on that day and I’m usually a type A, worrier but it just genuinely felt right.”
Just For Me
"I said yes because he is the true love of my life, my best friend," says Brittany. "He is the man that God created just for me."
“Our theme was southern chic meets tropical glam using jewel toned colors,” says Brittany. “We also wanted it to feel romantic. I was hesitant at first to use so many different colors, but our vendors executed it tastefully and it still fit the look of a formal wedding.”
Forever Looks Good
Now this is what we call group shot perfection. Kudos to the couple's very talented photographer, Cendino Temé.
Welcome To The Ceremony
A custom aisle lined with flowers welcomed the bride and groom on the big day.
“My dad walked me down the aisle,” Brittany tells us. “Everybody knows that I am a major daddy’s girl. He is my best friend. I think it was hard to give his baby girl away, but he was able to hold it together and not shed a tear until he sat down.”
“We cried when we said our vows,” says Brittany. “Walter actually started crying once the music started playing for me to walk down the aisle, before he even saw me. His frat brothers still joke with him about it.”
“I was getting married to my Queen,” says Walter. “I saw this day from when I knew Brittany was going to be my wife and my dreams came true.”
Dance The Night Away
The couple danced to Luther Vandross's classic hit "Here and Now."
“Our wedding cake was so yummy!” Brittany recalls. “We chose the style of the cake because we wanted it to be grand and include different shapes, but also elegant. Betty Weber Cakes made our cake and it tasted like a grandma baked it because she is a sweet older lady that enjoys baking cakes.”
