When it comes to award shows, the best act is on the red carpet. Here are a the runway looks we’d style-up a few celebs in.
Uzo Aduba in Tadashi Shoji
Uzo Aduba, known as “Crazy Eyes” on the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, is far from crazy when it comes to the red carpet. Typically opting for v-neck, floor-grazing gowns, is every reason why she should don Tadashi Shoji (known for complementing women with curves), specifically this sexy strapless style with divine detail.

Samira Wiley in Cushnie et Ochs
Orange Is the New Black ’s, Samira Wiley aka Poussey Washington, is always pulled together in a sexy midi cut-out style on the carpet, so Cushnie et Ochs was a no-brainer. This jewel tone feels like a more elegant midi option for the Emmy’s and rather then literal cut-outs, Wiley gets the same skin-baring effect with a drop shoulder neckline.

Laverne Cox in Donna Karan
Lavern Cox being the first transgender nominated for an EMMY (for her role as Sophie on OITNB) is every reason to bring it on the red carpet in an equally radiant shade that commands presence from Donna Karan –– and most importantly suits her curves.

Kerry Washington in Monique Lhuillier
Scandal star Kerry Washington has been playing up her post baby body in fit-and-flare styles quite lovely on the red carpet and this Monique Lhuillier is a way to up the ante with this shape.

Halle Berry in Valentino
Obviously Halle Berry hails as queen of all things sheer and drapey on the red carpet and can really do no wrong. We predict she might wear this Valentino number (as an homage to her French hubby) –– with of course, a nude slip beneath.

Nicole Beharie in Prabal Gurung
The Sleepy Hollow star, Nicole Behari aka Lt. Abbie Mills is pretty petite and has also found midi length dresses to be her most flattering beat. This Prabal Gurung Fall 2014 piece is the best option for the Emmy’s with a combo of sexy slits and sumptuous mix of fabrics.

Zoe Saldana in Calvin Klein
Mom-to-be Zoe Saldana has been bringing it, even with the belly. We suspect the actress might keep it classic and clean in her fave designer: Calvin Klein, swooned by a style that’s super minimal with subtle tummy details to break up the monotony.

Angela Bassett in B. Michael
American Horror Story’s Angela Bassett has to bring it in something bold like this garnet B Michael gown, that highlights her awesome arms and killer body.
