Shake Your Beauty: Silk Pillowcase

Your grandma was right--sleeping on cotton pillowcases can lead to serious split ends.
In her latest "Shake Your Beauty" video, Tia Williams reviews Beautyzzz Natural Silk Pillowcase ($47), an amino acid-infused case that helps hair retain moisture and prevents breakage. Sign us up.

These negative comments are so pathetic. You all need to find inner peace and self confidence. Essence should take responsibility and monitor comments. These comments are very unprofessional. Tia thanks for the beauty tips. You're doing your job. Whereas these negative viewers need to get a life.

nobody want to see a picture of this heffa's baby while she is demonstrating pillowcase that we can't afford. i can't stand these chicks who think they are so cute.

i got 2 silk pillowcases from the vermont country store for $25 not including shipping.

I wouldn't waste my time by writing a comment--on your video--if I didn't think I would be constructive.

I've been following your blog forever, and know that THAT adorable bebe bundle is your little "la lina..."

BUT mami--can we get you away from the desk, IN FRONT of the desk--with some better lighting? AND you had about 4 different colours of nail polish on--what was that about? We as the viewer want to know? Could you do some trial swatches for us--PULL the pillowcase out of the wrapping. PUMP the serum--so that we can see its viscosity--what it looks like.

YOU are too vivacious to be in such a drab setting. And as viewers, we are left wondering what's behind her on that desk. Moreover, is she going to share w/ us the products behind her or simply leave us hanging!?!?!?

Abrazos mami...

P.S. THE HAIR IS BANGIN'.

This product spotlight is a great idea, but it lacks luster because the end product comes off as, well ... lazy. Either dress it up or get her out of this bare bones setting, it's too mundane to invite, let alone keep, genuine interest. Address her attire head to toe. While the spot is about the product and not the product hawker, the tiny bottles and packages in her hands will never be seen if no one wants to look at her. Lastly, if she's following a script, check it. It should be loaded with transition language that flows smoothly from the speaker. This is Essence. Viewers expect a velvety delivery. Give her the tools to deliver. Remember, advertising dollars have wings. Our commitment determines the direction in which they fly.

does she really think we care seeing that stupid picture she has on her desk? she aint cute and has no clue about beauty tips.

47$ for a pillow case they really need to think before they open their mouths and stop trying to get over on people.

Is that her real hair? I don't think so. I saw her in downtown DC and this one is all weaved up.

This trick need to put that pillowcase over her head. She look stank and has no business giving out beauty tips.

That a great Idea. Thanks Tia. I would love for you to review my product and see how you like it. It's a high heel shoe protector to protect your shoe from the floor mat while driving. Please contact me and I will send you one. Thank you. www.heelskinz.com

Ms. Imb, good idea about the pillowcase with scarf.

well damn!$40 for a pillow case? why not just buy about a yard of silk fabric..and make a pillow case..ridiculous..my $5 satin pillow case from walmart works just fine :-)

I love my shake my beauty bits. you shoulkd be a talk show host just talking about the fabulous things in te world everyday.

Wow that's a lot of money for a pillowcase, but maybe it's worth it. I have silk caps. They're more affordable and it works well. This way I don't have to worry about the type of pillow cases I have.

Tip: you can also pin a silk scarf to your pillow if you don't want to wear a cap all the time.
