Flashback Fridays
Back in the day who was your favorite artist or actor?

Flashback Fridays

Who can forget that feel-good vibe you first heard when you heard the sweet sounds of Jackson 5, the hardcore rhymes of Roxanne Shaunte, the New Jack Swing of Guy or the first time you saw Foxy Brown nee Pam Grier and "Miami Vice"'s Phillip Michael Thomas or learned about the "Facts of Life" from Tootie nee Kim Fields? We can't.

Essence.com travels back to the future with our new weekly interview series, "Flashback Fridays" and pays homage to those cultural and musical icons who helped influence and shape our lives and pop culture.

I miss Anita Baker. I really would like to know what she has been up to. She is one of my all time favorite artists, as well as several of my girlfriends. Please include Anita as one of the Flashback Friday artist. I know many of your readers will bevery happy if you do so.

I miss Minnie Ripperton, whose single greatest hit`Lovin' You,is and will always be a hit, even at her passing at an early age of breast cancer.A write-up on her would be nice. And also,Michael Jackson is an awesome entertainer and performer with his crowd pleasing charisma and dance moves. He is and will forever be the greastest entertainer in the world.I`d like to see an extensive portfolio on him,his accomplishments and his ever increasing views on world hunger.
