Sundays won't be the same as The Wire airs its final episode. Here staffers kick off our message board of their favorite moments from the cult addiction. Continue to share your best memories of the show below.

Cori Murray, Entertainment Director
The Wire gave me a whole new perspective on the phrase “being a product of your environment”—especially after engulfing myself in season four, which focused on the Baltimore school system. I cried as Michael turned ruthlessly to the streets and Randy was left unwillingly in foster care. The show’s exceptional storytelling and acting brought to life many characters I’ll surely miss, but my heart goes out to Omar, Prop Joe, Snoop and Bodie (R.I.P.).”

Pamela Edwards, Fashion and Beauty Features Editor
“Of course I loved when when Snoop said “Does my hair look awhright?”–-just before Michael blows her brains out.”

Bridgette Bartlett, Research Editor
“Rarely does prime-time television capture all the complexities of urban life. The folks behind The Wire were brave enough to reveal what causes a 12 year-old to murder someone in broad daylight — from the corrupt local government, to the disappointing school system to the grim job market for many working class citizens in this country.”

“I think that is why it resonated so deeply with people who have never even stepped foot in Baltimore. The Wire told the much-needed stories behind the story in our cities. When we watched The Wire, we saw ourselves; whether we are the frustrated middle school teacher, the struggling foster mother or the alcoholic police officer.”

Demetria Lucas, Associate Editor
The Wire made you pay attention in order to get “it.” It was a thinking woman’s show, more like a long movie than a one hour short episode. It created a host of multi-dimensional characters that you could never really classify as good or bad, just human.

The show blurred the lines between right or wrong and showed the parallels of operating inside any institution. We all have more in common than we think we do. It will be sorely missed. Already my Sunday nights seem a little emptier. Oh, and the cast was fine!

I am very upset the wire is gone. I loved all the seasons except the last one. The focused too much on the news room and the politics. I wanted to see more of Marlo and his crew. I also wanted to see Mike come up. But over all it was a wonderful show. My husband and I would tivo the show to make sure we didn't miss out on anything.

You were excited everytime you knew it was coming on you could not wait for the next episode, you would call your friends on the phone and say Girl did you see it last night. If you had the series on DVD you could not loan it out, because conviently youwould not get it back. (LMAO)

I love the Wire and am watching Season 4 now. Eagerly waiting Season 5, which I have not yet seen.

Jamie Hector's eyes! He has an ability to communicate so much without saying a word, which is why toward the end of the show i found myself wondering what the character was thinking about in regards to this circumstance or that one. He became a tragic hero to me, instead of the cold villain i initially felt him to be.

I think the combination of Idris Elba and Wood Harris definately did it for the ladies. Not to mention the overall content of the show as well. This show was a great depiction of the inner city life and it was very realistic in many ways.
